We did things slightly differently on Sunday. Given that we were going to church in the evening, we did devotions (at which I was speaking) in the morning. I had brought along a few ‘recent’ choruses from Newbury and we learnt a few of those and then I spoke on ‘Where God guides, He provides’. We then had a good time of prayer at the end.
On Sunday afternoon, I started to get caught up on my Bible readings and also had a little walk around the site, down to the dam, etc.. Late that afternoon, we attended a baptismal service at which 7 people from the youth group were baptised in the camp pool.
After dinner that evening, the bus came to pick us up again to take us to church in Londrina. We had been asked to sing at the service and I also had a recorder solo to do which went wonderfully quivery due to my breathing not being as calm as it had been in rehearsal! Unfortunately, it started to rain heavily as we headed into Londrina. This impacted on numbers at the church that evening although it was still almost full. The service was lively - a time of worship, some prayer and then a sermon by David who we had met earlier.
The rain had gone over after church, and so we headed home via the bus station, where we picked up Orlay, Isabelle, John-Paul and Nathan (the camp’s caretaker and his family) who had been away at the Baptism of Isabelle’s father.
