On Tuesday, we resumed work on the various jobs we had started the previous day. As we needed a different colour of paint to continue work on the gates, Alistair and I joined the group who were picking the paint out of the mortar in the bricks at the pool. It was a job that I didn’t exactly enjoy. Dusty, dirty, at awkward heights, involving a degree of physical strength, hot and invariably involving me bashing my fingers to bits when I failed to contact the hammer squarely on the chisel. Towards the end of the day, I failed to close my eye in advance of some irritating bit of grit arriving and subsequently required a good rinse out and some eye drops up at my room. Called it quits on that job soon after…
Again, after dinner we had devotions and supper before heading to bed.
