The real work begins...

Now that the wood had arrived, it was all systems go on the playground. That morning, we got the 4 upright beams into position, and, with spirit levels a plenty, pegged them into position. It took a long time to get them all into the correct positions, but eventually we were happy.

After lunch, concrete was made with vigour. Being of little use with a spade, I was a driver in the fleet. My black barrow and I made about 20 runs from the concrete production unit (a hot and sweaty spot behind the accommodation block) to the site of the playground (probably only about 50 meters away, but with a few tricky corners and one sudden drop that required reverse gear if maximum control was to be achieved.

That evening, we went by bus into Londrina again. We went to a shopping centre in the heart of the city before heading to a pizza shop for all you can eat pizza. Nicassio, Lillian and Victoria were sitting opposite me and I think that they thought I was a sugar addict as I barely ate anything until the pudding pizzas (yes, pizza base with chocolate mousse, ice cream, apple and cinnamon and host of other non cheese or tomato tainted toppings) arrived, at which point I was feasting myself. On return to camp, we had late devotions and then headed to bed.
