Off to Foz...

On Friday, a decision was taken to try to get the A frames concreted in. It was considered that if we at least achieved this, that we would then at least have a fighting chance of completing the playground and that it would also leave more time for the concrete to set. Again, a lot of thought and measurement went into the morning’s activities before concrete production was resumed after lunch. Concrete delivery became a spectator sport, with Sylv, Amy and Rosie working on the grass nearby and giving helpful advice such as “Faster” as we came past. I was glad that we finished when we did, for I knew that my usefulness as a fleet driver was diminishing as the muscles in my left arm were throbbing and I was carrying lighter loads. Thankfully, my usual day job doesn’t involve too much manual labour, otherwise I doubt I would have much of a career ahead of me!

After dinner and devotions, we packed up ready for a weekend away. We were travelling to Foz do Iguacu, about 550 miles south-west of Londrina and a veritable tourist attraction. Our bus was enormous. It was a standard touring bus with seating for the passengers upstairs (including, sheets, pillows and a rest to lie your legs on) and was probably the most comfortable bus I’ve ever travelled on. We left at around 10:30pm and, once through Londrina, settled down to sleep.
